Prerequisites

Pre-Calculus 12 or any Grade 12 level math

Description

This is AP Calculus AB prescribed by the College Board. This course covers limits, derivatives, integration, and applications such as related rates, slope fields, and logistic growth.

 

Students are expected to come with above-average algebraic skills which this course will further develop and refine. Students are also encouraged to use math software/tools to solve problems and visualize functions.

 

There is an optional AP exam (fee TBA) which can give you university credit if you score well on it.

 

Course Topics/Modules

Unit 1: Introductory algebra review, limits

Unit 2: Derivatives and rules

Unit 3: Derivatives of trigonometric and logarithmic functions

Unit 4: Integration, Riemann sum, fundamental theorem of Calculus, and solids of revolution.

Unit 5: Differential equations and slope field

Unit 6: Applications of integrals

Assessment

6 quizzes and 6 written assignments

1 midterm exam (20%)

1 final exam (30%)
