Description

English 8 provides students the knowledge and skill to use language in its full range of contexts and purposes through a variety of print and non-print media. The three modules the students will be working on will focus on Grammar and Writing Skills, Short Stories, Poetry and Legends, as well as the novel study of Seedfolks. Students are encouraged to participate with their classmates in online discussions and make personal connections with the reading. Creative assignments are also offered in this course as well to allow for students to explore their writing and creative talents.

Course Topics/Modules

MODULE 1- GRAMMAR REVIEW

MODULE 2- TIME TO WRITE

MODULE 3- READING AND RESPONDING

MIDTERM- This will cover the information studied in Modules 1-3.

 

MODULE 4- THE NOVEL Student will read the novel Seedfolks.

FINAL- The final will be based on the novel, Seedfolks.
