Originally from Alberta, Jim was lured to Vancouver by the beauty and diversity of our city. A biology, chemistry and science teacher, he taught at City School then King George Secondary for many years before serving as an administrator at Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Byng, Sir Charles Tupper and, since 2015, the Vancouver Learning Network. Jim passionately believes in the benefits and opportunities of online learning. He believes it provides students with more control over their learning through the breadth of courses, pace and the ability to choose when and where they learn. He also believes online learning helps to prepare students for their post-secondary education, where many institutions are now integrating online learning into their programs. Jim’s personal interests include cars, cooking, and gardening. He also sneaks in a few ski and running days each year, when his wife and daughter aren’t keeping him busy. Send an Email.
